This event will explore in greater detail the policies and measures that will be needed to reduce shipping's GHG emissions effectively. Speakers will look at both short-term measures that could be introduced in the near future, and the complementary market-based measures such as carbon pricing whose development may need more time before they enter into force. Within this context, opportunities and challenges associated with a carbon pricing scheme applied to the shipping sector will also be discussed.
