This event will look at present action on carbon pricing and markets in Africa. We will analyse the latest developments across the continent and the role that Africa can play in helping to deliver the goals of the Paris Agreement. We will feature updates on how carbon markets can both increase climate ambition and play a vital role in post-pandemic recoveries as governments look to re-start their economies. The edition will foster a discussion delving into different perspectives, looking at opportunities at the subnational and national level. This panel will reflect on opportunities for carbon pricing, what actions are needed to mobilize African decision makers, investors and other stakeholders, and what place markets and pricing have in the overall development landscape.
