The CPLC Secretariat has opened registration for the CPLC Fourth Annual High-Level Assembly and Technical Workshop. CPLC Partners are invited to participate in both.
The High-Level Assembly and CPLC Technical Workshop will take place as part of the World Bank Group/International Monetary Fund Spring Meetings, and will bring together leaders from government, private sector, and civil society organizations.
Registration is required. Participants must also register for a Spring Meeting badge.
High-Level Assembly (HLA)
The HLA provides a strategic platform for CPLC partners to exchange views on key challenges and opportunities faced by stakeholders as they forge ahead on their carbon pricing journey. This year, the HLA will focus on two themes: (i) The opportunities and challenges of integrating carbon pricing into investment decision making; (ii) How to ensure carbon pricing policies are designed with consideration of larger social and development concerns.
This meeting will feature the World Bank Interim President, Kristalina Georgieva and the IMF Managing Director, Christine Lagarde. Invited speakers include Mark Carney, Governor, Bank of England and co-chair of the TCFD, Philippe Le Houérou, Chief Executive Officer, International Finance Corporation, and Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Former Nigerian Minister of Finance and co-chair of the Global Commission on the Economy and Climate. During this meeting, the 2019 Co-Chair of the CPLC HLA succeeding Minister Catherine McKenna will also be introduced. A detailed agenda will be posted shortly.
All partners are invited to participate in the HLA, with priority given to senior-level representatives around the table. An overflow room will be available for all other participants. CPLC Secretariat invites all partners to also participate in the Technical Workshop.
Technical Workshop
On April 12th, the CPLC will organize a full day of workshops carried out by CPLC Partners. The workshops will be related to the themes of the HLA. If you would like to host a workshop, email terb@worldbank.org. A draft agenda for the day will be uploaded shortly on the CPLC website.
